Women in Manufacturing Association (WiM) San Diego Chapter


The Women in Manufacturing Association (WiM) is the only national trade association dedicated to providing support to women who have chosen a career in the manufacturing industry. WiM members benefit from access to educational programming, networking opportunities, monthly webinars, a customized job board, and much more. Students dues of only $40 per month. Virtual, local and national events.

Step Ahead Awards in Manufacturing


The Manufacturing Institute, the education and workforce partner of the National Association of Manufacturers, launched the STEP Women’s Initiative to support women in science, technology, engineering and production careers and inspire more to join them. The Institute’s STEP Ahead Awards celebrate and recognize the accomplishments of outstanding female leadership in manufacturing and serves as a platform for companies to select leaders for national recognition.

Women in Manufacturing Summit


Attracting hundreds of manufacturing professionals from around the country, the WiM SUMMIT is the only national conference of its kind. This three-day networking and educational event features manufacturing plant tours, keynote presentations, roundtable discussions, breakout sessions, and social events to expand participants' networks. The SUMMIT location moves around the country each year, giving attendees the opportunity to experience manufacturing and develop their networks throughout the United States. Both an in-person and virtual experience is offered.

The San Diego Foundation


The foundation administers various scholarships for graduating high school seniors, undergraduates, graduate students and adult re-entry students who are attending two-year colleges, four-year universities, trade/vocational schools, graduate, medical and professional schools or teaching credential programs. Scholarships range from $1000 to $5,000. Scholarships to students or adults residing in San Diego County, CA. See web site for additional information.

Leanna Dorworth Memorial Scholarship


Leanna Dorworth Memorial Scholarship is one of SME Education Foundations offered scholarships annually. The scholarship is offered to female students pursuing a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering programs including 2-year colleges. The awardee may use the funds for tuition, books or lab/course fees related to attaining a technical or engineering education. $1,000 - $6,000.
